CDR will be at SNACKEX in Vienna the next 21st and 22nd of June. SNACKEX is the international event for the savoury snacks and snack nut.
We exhibit the CDR FoodLab® for the specific application on snacks: fried potato chips, extruded and pellet snacks, tortilla chips and the various types of snack nuts.
Many snacks manufacturers are using CDR FoodLab® for quality control of the oils used in the frying process as well as in the finished products, in order to verify the oxidation and predict the shelf-life.
The snack world represent now for CDR a very important sector: in 2016 the 30% of the income from the food industry came from the snack sector. For this reason we have decided to became member of the European Snack Association (ESA), and to participate at SNACKEX exhibition.
In the last 4 years the CDR FoodLab® has been successfully shown in USA during the SNAXPO, the event for the snack food industry. In North America, Quartz Analytics, the American distributor of CDR FoodLab® , is very active and he has a great success in term of sales.
In 2016 Quartz Analytics was also in Mexico at Expo Botanas showing CDR FoodLab®.
The most common tests done on nuts or fried oil during the process are the Free Fatty Acids (FFA) and Peroxide Value (PV). Many companies are doing also test of p-Anisidine Value, an important parameter to verify the secondary oxidation of the oil.
The advantage of CDR FoodLab® system is the possibility to analyse the oil at line in a easy and fats way with high accuracy and precision. CDR FoodLab® is used also to check the quality of finished products (fried chips, corn chips, etc.) as well as nuts (peanuts, hazelnuts, pistachios, etc…).
In this case with a simple extracting procedure using a small press and mini centrifuge without dangerous solvent and avoid complicate procedure, it is possible to verify the oxidation of the oil content in the products.
CDR FoodLab® will be at SNACKEX at Wien Messe booth 659
