CDR DrinkLab is a quick, reliable and easy analysis system for the quality and process control of the beverage sector

Determination of Potassium in Water

Potassium analysis allows, in a simple and fast way, to quantify the concentration of the analyte in the water used in fermentation processes.

Method

Test type: End Point.

Time testing: 1 minute.

Analysis sessions with multiple samples are possible up to a maximum of 16 tests for CDR DrinkLab.

Sample treatment

Use water as is.

Principle of the test

Potassium ions precipitate with sodium tetraphenylborate. The absorbance determined at 420 nm is proportional to the amount of analyte present in the water sample.

Calibration curve

The calibration curve was constructed using standard potassium solutions. The trend of the curve confirmed an excellent linearity of the system over the whole measuring range.
