CDR CoffeLab analyzer for controlling fermentation processes, for defining the chemical profile of green beans, roasted coffee and the drink.

Determination of bicarbonate in water

The analysis of bicarbonates allows, in a simple and fast way, to quantify the concentration of the analyte in the water used for making coffee.

CDR CoffeeLab allows you to determine the concentration of bicarbonates in the waterin a simple and fast way.

Method

Test Principle

The bicarbonate ion reacts with an enzymatic complex that leads to the oxidation of NADH. The decrease in absorbance measured at 366 nm is proportional to the amount of the analyte present in the water sample.

Calibration curve

The calibration curve was constructed using standard bicarbonate solutions. The trend of the curve confirmed an excellent linearity of the system over the whole measuring range.

The calibration curve of the analysis of bicarbonate on water with CDR CoffeLab obtained using standard bicarbonate solutions. R²=0.9895
