Determination of the value of Xanthophylls in powder added to poultry feed
Xanthophylls are natural pigments added in poultry feed in order to set the colour of the future egg product. The test allows to determine the value of the xanthophylls in the powder added to the poultry feed with an advantageous method and with a minimum waste of food matrix.

Test time: 1 minute.
Analysis sessions with multiple samples are possible up to a maximum of 16 tests for CDR FoodLab®. This analysis is not available on CDR FoodLab® Jr.
Sample treatment
Weigh exactly 0,1 g of xanthophylls powder on the analytical balance, add 5 mL of dispersing solution and put in agitation for 5 minutes.
Principle of the test
The test is based on the photometric reading of the absorbance of the xanthophylls.

CDR FoodLab® method shows a very good correlation to Official Method.
